I love the tales, they're famous vampire stories.

The book has about ten inner illustrations.

La portada impresa es monocroma, pero me hubiera gustado añadir este toque de rojo.

The printed cover is b/w, but I'd have loved it had this touch of red.

Cubierta para la Antología de Cuentos de Vampiros, publicada por Oxford University Press, España.

Me gustan mucho los cuentos, son historias de vampiros clásicas.

El libro tiene diez ilustraciones interiores.

Birgit - Sequence

Sequence of illustrations for "Birgit".

Birgit s a short novel by Gudrun Mebs. It's the story of a girl's illness and death told by her younger sister. The narrator is very young and she doesn't really understand what's happening.

It's a hard story but the point of view makes it very interesting and it softens a little the sadness of it.

Secuencia de ilustraciones de Birgit

Birgt es una novela corta escrita por Gudrun Mebs. Cuenta el proceso de enfermedad y muerte de una niña a través de los ojos de su hermana pequeña, que no comprende aún el significado de la muerte.  Es una historia dura, aunque el punto de vista desde el que se narra suaviza un poco la tristeza.

A couple of weeks ago I was in Madrid, in the "Casa del Lector" (Reader's House). I't's a beautiful building inside the ancient Madrid's slaughterhouse complex, which it's a cultural center now. I know it doesn't sounds good, but the place is incredible, juts google "Matadero de Madrid".

I was invited to speak about my work and it has been a great chance to meet a lot of interesting people, and some old friends. 

Thank you very much to all the people who has made possible the short course about Picture Books. It's been wonderful experience. I've really liked projecting my works in such a huge screen.

Hace un par de semanas estuve en Madrid, en el antiguo matadero. La fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez organizó un curso sobre álbum infantil ilustrado y me pidieron que hablara sobre mi trabajo.

Aunque un poco tarde, gracias a todos los organizadores de las Jornadas, Kepa, Jose Luís y  Antonio. Gracias a Charo, Carlota y Aitor, que me ayudaron a preparar la conferencia y la exposición. Espero que nos encontremos de nuevo. Y gracias a los participantes. Ha sido una experiencia fantástica.

La pantalla de la casa del Lector es increíblemente grande y he disfrutado mucho proyectando ahí las ilustraciones. Nunca había visto mis ilustraciones proyectadas a esa escala.

Illustration for text about the Grimm's Cinderella. There's no fairy Godmother, Cinderella prays under a tree grown on her mother's grave, and a little bird grants her wishes.

Ilustración para un texto que habla sobre la Cenicienta de los hermanos Girmm. En esta versión no hay hada madrina sino un árbol plantado sobre la tumba de su madre y regado con las lágrimas de Cenicienta. Es un pájaro el que escucha sus oraciones y le concede deseos.
